And yes, it's tempting sometimes, in those moments of silence or being awake and alone in the wee hours of the night to give in. To say yes, you are an irresponsible, adult child who will never be able to stand on her own. To look at your dirty sink, cluttered floor, piles of laundry, empty Coke bottles and Starbucks cups, stacks of unopened mail, trash that needs to be taken out, and see yourself as a collage of irresponsibility. And these mean voices are good. Real good. Because they come from me, and no one knows my weak spots more intimately.
